Wedding Photographer Bordeaux — Personal Travel Journal
France is a truly special country, and being a wedding photographer in Bordeaux is a great honour. Elegant cities full of historical architecture dot this country, with buildings that have a glorious history and stunning details.

A trip to France
One of our couples, Sarah and Joe, recently married at the stunning Chateau Rigaud in Bordeaux. This gave us an excuse for a little break from the norm — a chance to explore and travel. It's a rare treat in the hectic, whirlwind lives of destination wedding photographers.
Bordeaux city
We visited the Bordeaux region of France — a truly stunning part of the world. Bordeaux was our first port of call, where we drank white Bordeaux wine and watched the world go by. The huge plaza called The Water Mirror, or Miroir d'Eau, is less than 10 years old but located just across from a monument nearly three centuries old. It has become one of the city's main attractions. We also bumped into a guy called Corentin Cherolle with a Google Earth camera strapped to his back — hopefully we'll feature on Google Maps in the coming months.
Saint Émilion
In Saint Émilion, people basked in the warm winter sunshine and ate exquisite French delights. Old cobbled streets oozed with character and elegance, from quirky little wine shops to souvenirs and trinket stalls. Its beauty spoke a thousand words.

Over the bridge to Castillon
We crossed the Dordogne river, where many famous actors have made movies. Our place to rest our heads at night was the tranquil Clos Vieux Rochers in Castillon. We were welcomed very warmly by Rob, Steve and their handsome dog Branston — yes, just like the pickle. They actually had a cat called Pickle, but he was always off exploring. Our gîte was clean cut and modernised with a relaxed country vibe. The quietness was magical, the scenery simply breathtaking. The sunset views were so magical they put you in a daze. This venue was featured on Channel 4's A New Life in the Sun.
The wine tour
The boys took us on a full wine tour and at the end we tried their own batch of Clos Vieux Rochers red wine — extremely palatable and very smooth, so much so that we finished the bottle that night. The hosts Rob and Steve were truly wonderful, and Branston stole the show, welcoming us in the morning and seeing us off when we went exploring. A magical destination we will soon revisit.
