Hannah & Keith's Romantic Vasilias Wedding with a Four-Legged Surprise
Childhood friends turned lovers for a lifetime, Hannah and Keith jetted off from home in Scotland to tie the knot in the sun.

Jet, set, Cyprus
"We were originally going to get married at home but no venue we had seen had really captured our attention. So, out of curiosity, we started looking at weddings abroad and the minute we came across Vasilias Nikoklis Inn we fell in love. It was everything we wanted and we loved the fact it was a family-owned venue with a history. Once we found they had a resident cat we were completely sold, as we have three of our own."
Finding the one
McDonald's Kilts of Cyprus outfitted the groom in a traditional Scottish kilt, with a dried thistle buttonhole and a grey cravat to complement the bridesmaid dresses. Hannah stunned in a fairy-tale ballgown design by Madeline Gardner New York with a sweetheart neckline.
"We were in the middle of posing for photos and I was incredibly warm in my dress (it had eleven layers to it)," explains Hannah. "In the middle of a photo I just said 'I'm going to faint' and sat down. Keith ran to get me water and whilst I was acting all dramatic and Cinderella-esque, Nick snapped away. It was funny at the time and it is nice to have the little quirks from our day in a format that we can remember forever."

Tying the knot
"We did a traditional handfasting after the ceremony while my dad did a reading. We were really keen that we had a touch of home during our whole wedding and the handfasting was a massive part of that."
The bride glided down the aisle to "Highland Cathedral", performed live on the bagpipes. "Vasilias Nikoklis Inn was just the dream location for us and that combined with the weather just made it so perfect in every way. To walk under the greenery and through those wooden doors to Keith waiting for me was everything I imagined and more."
Party time
The newlyweds and their guests tucked into a decadent barbecue created by the venue's talented team. "We opted not to have a cake but we did have the ice cream cart from Love Me Do and it went down a treat with our guests. We loved that we had this option because we wanted the wedding to be quite relaxed and not too structured. Our guests could walk about with ice cream and some strawberry vodka or homemade lemonade (both Vasilias specialties) — it was brilliant."

As day turned to night, DJ Andy from Cyprus Events Company set the party soundtrack while Cypriot dancers from the Paphos Dancing Group filled the dance floor.
Choosing their Vasilias Cyprus wedding photographer
"We knew we were going to be picky about our photographers because we were very specific about the style we wanted. After a browse on Facebook and the Cyprus Brides group we came across Beziique. We had a look at their website and Instagram and became obsessed with their style. We contacted them hoping they had our date free and luckily for us — they did."
"Beziique were so great in the run-up to the wedding and even helped when we had some dilemmas that required the knowledge of people within the Cyprus wedding industry. Before our wedding we met up with Nick and it was like catching up with an old mate."
"On the day Nick and Aimie were amazing. Nick pretty much coordinated our whole day and made sure Keith knew what was going on and where he needed to be and when."

A pawfect surprise
"Nick and Aimie both made us feel so at ease and we had a good laugh. All of our guests commented on how much they loved the photographers. The fact that they were kind enough to bring their dogs along to our reception was brilliant and we will forever be grateful to them. We are massive animal lovers and were gutted to leave our own black lab, Lola, at home while we got married."
